The Airports School of the Latin American Institute of Civil Aviation aims to develop applied research and education related to the airport industry, integrating theoretical and practical knowledge with its effective application in the professional roles in which students will perform.

AIRPORT EMERGENCY PLAN DEVELOPMENT

This course develops the professional competencies required for the preparation and implementation of Airport Emergency Plans (AEP), in accordance with national and international standards and regulations.

It covers topics such as an introduction to Airport Emergency Plans, design and organization, implementation and evaluation, emergency response, and practical exercises.

IDENTIFICATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS AND IMPACTS AT THE AIRPORT

This course focuses on identifying environmental aspects and impacts associated with airport operations, recognizing their significance in order to determine the appropriate mitigation measures in each case.

It covers topics such as environmental concepts, identification of environmental issues at airports and how to control them, as well as the development of practical exercises.

Green Airports

Implementation of Green Bonds. Greenhouse Gases This course addresses the current environmental challenges generated by aviation activity and analyzes options to minimize the environmental impact of the aviation sector and its facilities, promoting their transformation toward a sustainable activity.

Throughout the course, topics include environmental issues in aviation, green airports, global climate change, aviation activity and greenhouse gas emissions, environmental impacts, air traffic and its contribution to global warming, international agreements, and green bonds.

FIREFIGHTING AND RESCUE SERVICES MANAGEMENT

This course is aimed at airport services personnel and covers the design, planning, and implementation of an integrated management system for rescue and firefighting services, in accordance with current regulations and in response to the evolving needs of airports.

RAMP SAFETY PROCEDURES

This course is aimed at personnel working for companies that operate within the movement area. It raises awareness of procedures that ensure safe and efficient operations in the movement area.

The program covers the basic safety aspects that must be applied when performing ramp activities in order to prevent accidents involving personnel or equipment.

AIRPORT HANDLING SERVICES MANAGEMENT

This course provides an overview of the evolution of airport handling, along with the knowledge required to perform both passenger handling and ramp handling tasks.

Topics covered include baggage check-in terminals, documentation control, baggage handling, communication channels, apron safety, and preparation of the load sheet, among others.

AIRPORT PLANNING AND DESIGN

The course content provides the basic knowledge and skills required by aeronautical professionals working in organizations and companies involved in the planning, development, design, construction, and operation of airports.

It addresses the compatibility of an airport with its surrounding areas, emphasizing that this balance can be achieved through proper airport planning, control of pollution sources, and effective land-use planning in areas adjacent to the airport. The objective is to create the best possible conditions for airport activities while protecting the surrounding community and the environmental ecosystem.

SECURITY AWARENESS OF SAFETY REGULATIONS IN RESTRICTED AREAS OF AN AERODROME

This course raises awareness of security measures at airports and related facilities, helping participants recognize airport security needs and understand how to contribute to Aviation Security by operating safely within the aerodrome movement area.

Participants will learn to observe, identify, and prevent any potential acts that may threaten aviation security, in accordance with applicable regulations.

MANDATORY KNOWLEDGE FOR DRIVING GROUND VEHICLES IN THE MOVEMENT AREA

This course is intended for airport personnel who need to operate ground vehicles and obtain airport accreditation for access to the movement area.

It raises awareness of the safety measures required in each area of the apron, emphasizing aviation safety concepts and their application to specific operational situations.

PASSENGER BOARDING BRIDGE OPERATOR

This course provides participants with the knowledge required for the proper operation of the passenger boarding bridge, identifying each of its components to ensure a thorough understanding of its functionality.

It also covers applicable safety regulations for correct operation, including general procedures for bridge positioning and removal, as well as safety standards for passenger boarding and disembarkation bridges. Practical training on the passenger boarding bridge is an essential component of the course.
